National Miners Day 2015 - December 6th

Posted By Ariel Hill-Davis, Friday, December 4, 2015

This Sunday, December 6th is the 8th Annual National Miners Day.  National Miners day was designated by Congress in 2009 to celebrate and honor the contributions and sacrifices of miners both past and present. The day is a time to honor the role miners played and continue to play in building the United States.

IMA-NA is encouraging members to take some time Sunday to share your role in your communities and your appreciation for the teams you work with.  Whether you share on social media, on the IMA-NA site, or simply by letting your families and friends know about National Miners Day, the more we talk about our community the more awareness we bring to the industry.  MSHA has developed resources to assist in the staging of any activities for Miners Day, which you can find here. There you can find Miners Day videos, photos, and posters as well as a social media toolkit. If there are individuals or operations you would like to highlight on IMA-NA's website or Facebook page, please contact Ariel Hill-Davis.  Additionally, MSHA staffer, Lynn Dondis is supporting events and sharing updates. She can be reached here, if you would like to share information, thoughts, or stories from your operations with her directly.

Sponsor Spotlight: Law Office of Adele L. Abrams PC

Posted By Ariel Hill-Davis, Thursday, August 6, 2015

During the lead up to the Annual Meeting, IMA-NA will take the opportunity to highlight our sponsors.  This week we are highlighting the Law Office of Adele L. Abrams PC, which is sponsoring the "Longest Putt" prize for our golf outing. The Law Office of Adele L. Abrams PC is a full service law firm, focusing on occupational and mine safety and health, employment, and environmental law. Adele and her team are no strangers to IMA-NA membership, regularly offering their legal expertise in the form of webinars and presentations at our Technology Workshop.  With offices in Maryland, West Virginia, and Colorado the team offers both consulting and legal services related to OSHA, MSHA, and the EPA. Adele herself, is not only an active member at IMA-NA but she formerly acted as the Chair for the Associate Member Section. Working with regulatory bodies, particularly the enforcement branches, is a reality of doing business but the process is often both confusing and time consuming.  Luckily IMA-NA can count on Associate members, like Adele and her team, to provide expertise and representation to simplify the processes.

For more information on the Law Office of Adele L. Abrams PC and their services click here.
