The Industrial Minerals Association - North America (IMA-NA) has had the pleasure over the past two months to provide an internship for Mr. Jonathan Taylor, a rising sophomore at The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. Jonathan is studying Political Science and Pre-Law, with hopes to return to Washington, DC after graduation. Mr. Taylor is the first intern IMA-NA has accepted, and given the positive experience with Jonathan, there will likely be many more. “Jonathan has made me very proud, he has worked hard, turned out product, gone beyond what was asked of him, and been a delight to have around the office…the Citadel instils within their Cadets the highest values of Honor, Duty, and Respect, and Jonathan has demonstrated those qualities here at IMA-NA,” said Darrell Smith, Executive Vice President of IMA-NA and a graduate of The Citadel himself. During his time at IMA-NA, Jonathan has produced maps of our mine operations by Congressional District, attended numerous legislative and regulatory meetings with IMA-NA staff, helped out on a variety of other vital tasks, and made many professional contacts. At The Citadel, Jonathan is a member of the Human Affairs Team for the Corps of Cadets, will be serving on the renowned Cadre next year, and is the Operations Manager for The Citadel’s Knights of Columbus Chapter. When he is not working hard at The Citadel or his internships, Jonathan calls Charlotte, NC home, where he lives with his mother Gwen, sister Shamyra, and dog Raven. Upon graduating from The Citadel, Jonathan Plans to Commission as an Army National Guard Officer and work as either a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill or for a Defense Industry company in government affairs or public policy.
