MineFit TidBit: Are You a Gardener? Then consider your cardiovascular system SAFE!

It is the best time of year to garden, and there are undoubtedly many green thumbs amongst the IMA-NA membership base. Gardening is a highly beneficial form of physical exercise, so keep up the planting and growing!

Did you know…?

General gardening, pushing a power mower, and weeding can burn the same amount of calories per hour as jogging or doing the elliptical? At a rate of between 250-500 calories per hour, this outdoor activity is a great way to earn your cook-out food and beverage, and make your garden a beautiful bed of flowers and produce.  

Remember that you should warm-up using the MineFit Super On-Site Stretching Series, and follow other safety precautions you learn at work such as wearing gloves and proper shoes.
