MineFit has developed a basic set of seven stretching moves which would be an excellent start for employees to use on-site. They will be presented over the next seven weeks. A good strategy is to present them to employees one-by-one at toolbox talks or other meetings, and see if your site can make them a habit. If you are successful, let us know. First in the series is the Cross-Body Stretch…
This warms up the “T-spine” (the middle section of the spine) to reduce the chance of injury and to improve rotational movement for better-feeling shoulders, necks, and backs.
Perform 10 to each side, alternating sides, and lengthening the motion each time. Then do 8 on just one side at a time to examine differences in the left and the right sides!
